Recently, exciting news arrived! The three-member undergraduate team from the AI Cube Laboratory (Yin Size, Wu Honghui, Zheng Hao) stood out in the 2025 National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling and ultimately won the Guangdong Province First Prize!

The National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling is one of the largest and most influential fundamental subject competitions in China, known as the “compete once, benefit for life” hardcore competition. This competition attracted tens of thousands of teams from universities across the country to compete, with unprecedented fierce competition. The competition requires teams of three to complete the entire process from problem analysis, model establishment, programming solution to paper writing in just 72 hours.

The award-winning team demonstrated outstanding comprehensive qualities and tenacious fighting spirit in the competition. Facing highly open competition problems with complex data, team members demonstrated clear problem-solving thinking and rigorous scientific methodology. They established basic mathematical models from physical principles, cleverly designed nonlinear fitting algorithms, transforming complex physical measurement problems into mathematical parameter solving problems. Through residual analysis and data screening, the team continuously optimized algorithms, significantly improving the accuracy and reliability of results.

Particularly worthy of pride is that this award-winning team consists of three excellent undergraduates from the AI Cube Laboratory. Their innovative thinking, rigorous academic style, and strong stress resistance demonstrated in the competition fully demonstrate the excellent effectiveness of the AI Cube Laboratory in discovering and cultivating undergraduate research and innovation capabilities. This weighty Province First Prize is not only the best reward for team members’ hard work but also strong proof of the laboratory’s training philosophy emphasizing the combination of theory and practice and encouraging members to explore boldly.

This award once again proves the strong competitiveness of AI Cube Laboratory members on national high-level subject competition stages. Behind this achievement is the careful guidance of laboratory head Associate Professor Feng Jianshe and the solid academic platform provided by the laboratory.
