    Undergraduate team Yin Size, Wu Honghui, and Zheng Hao battled through three days and nights to win first prize in the Guangdong region

    Champion, Xiaomi AI Challenge

    Master's student Zhu Yizhang competed during a Xiaomi internship and won first place among more than 1,500 Xiaomi employees, earning a RMB 20,000 prize

    Third Prize (Guangdong), Intelligent Precision Assembly Competition

    First-year undergraduates Li Wenfei, Xie Ying, Lin Yule, and Wang Ziming won as a team, showcasing the potential of incoming students

    "High-Dimensional Time Series Multi-Agent Collaborative Perception and Defect Diagnosis for FDM Printing" was recommended for the national finals; "Control-Computing Fusion of Domestic PLCs with Large-Model Edge Inference for Advanced Manufacturing" was one of only two award-winning entries from Sun Yat-sen University in the AI practice category

The SAM-IPA-1 team from AI Cube Lab — led by Prof. Jianshe Feng and composed of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students Peng Gao, Fanyu Qi, Yizhang Zhu, Jianyu Zhang, and Wenfei Li — leveraged outstanding technical expertise and an innovative algorithmic architecture to outshine international competitors and claim first place at the PHM 2025 Data Challenge.

Zhu Yizhang, a master's student from the Advanced Manufacturing Intelligence Laboratory, participated in the Xiaomi AI Competition as an intern and won the championship, standing out among over 1,500 Xiaomi employees and receiving a 20,000 RMB prize, fully demonstrating the laboratory's training capabilities.

Two undergraduate teams from AI Cube Lab won Second Prize in the Guangdong regional round of the 2026 China Collegiate Computer Design Contest's Artificial Intelligence Application track. The project 'High-Dimensional Time-Series Multi-Agent Collaborative Perception and Defect Diagnosis for FDM Printing' was recommended for the national finals, while 'Domestic PLC Large Model Edge Inference and Full-Stack Intelligent Control for Advanced Manufacturing' was one of only two award-winning entries from Sun Yat-sen University in the AI Practice competition category.

Two undergraduate innovation projects guided by AI Cube Lab — 'Multi-Agent Collaborative Perception and Machining Quality Optimization for Additive Manufacturing Based on High-Dimensional Time-Series Large Models' and 'Domestic PLC Large Model Edge Inference and Full-Stack Intelligent Control for Advanced Manufacturing' — were both approved as National-Level College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program projects, sweeping all slots allocated to the School of Advanced Manufacturing this year.
